In a July 2007 news release, KFOR forces reported good co-operation with Serbian forces in Kosovo. This is good news for both Albanian and Serb speaking people living in and close to Kosovo.

Still, Serbia has stated it would respond if separatist Kosovo Albanian officials carry out their threat to declare independence. "Serbia will have no choice but respond to the acts which would jeopardize its sovereignty and territorial integrity," the Serbian prime minister said. "The unilateral declaration of independence would bring protracted instability to the region," he warned.
